Frankoma Pottery was founded in 1933, in Norman, Oklahoma, by John F. Frank and moved to Sapulpa, Oklahoma in 1938. It was originally known as The Frank Potteries. They produced bakeware, cookware, dinnerware, vases and more.

Early pieces were made from light-colored, creamy beige clay from Ada known as “Ada” clay but they switched to a reddish, reddish pink clay from Sapulpa in 1956. The pieces were very functional with a Southwest style. Each piece had up to eight different artisans working on them.
John Frank died in 1973 and his daughter Joniece, took over the business. Frankoma Pottery was sold in 1991 to Richard Bernstein, who changed the name to Frankoma Industries. In 2005, it was sold again to Det and Crystal Merryman. Joe Ragosta bought the pottery in 2008. It closed down a couple of years later in 2010 with the assets being sold at a factory closeout auction in 2011.

I have 2 unmatching yet matching end table lamps. Unmatching as in depicting different plants, but same size & base and set up. Number on the base of ceramic of one is hard to read. The other I have yet to disassemble. They have the old vintage wiring. Are there counterfeit Frankoma. I picked them up at the Good Will
Thank you

I have numerous pieces of the blue and green dishes, serving and decorative pieces produced in the 50’s and or 60’s. Family lore says the original plant burned down and the molds were destroyed. Because of this, pieces made from the original molds are worth more than the pieces made from the new molds. Can you verify if this story is true.
