Heisey Glass

A.H. Heisey & Company was started by A. H. Heisey in Newark, Ohio in 1895 and made Heisey Glass until 1957. They made fine quality glass tableware and decorative glass figurines. In 1914, they started to make blown glassware which they called “Heisey’s American Crystal”, and was the first company to make fancy pressed stems. E. Wilson Heisey took over the company in 1922 when his father A.H. Heisey died. It’s when they started making the colored glass much sought after by collectors today. Imperial Glass Company of Bellaire, Ohio acquired the company’s name and molds in 1958. Imperial still made some Heisey patterns since 1960 but stopped using the diamond H trademark after 1968.
