Hedi Schoop

Hedi Schoop Art Creations was founded in 1940, in North Hollywood, California, by Hedi Schoop. She made lamps, vases, tableware, planters, ceramic figurines and much more until 1958.

Most of the figurines she created had secondary uses as well, like a bowl, soap dish, ashtray etc. They became so popular during the 1940′s, that she had over 50 people working for her and was producing more than 30,000 items a year.

In 1958, the Schoop factory was destroyed by fire and she briefly worked with The California Cleminsons, before retiring a few years later.

I have a pair of vintage oriental figures that I am trying to find out how much they are worth. The boy is carrying two bowl and the girl has a large fan which she is holding in front of her and the colors are light blue or gray with lots of flowers in yellow brown light & dark surrounding her robe . Her hair is white and the base she stands on is also white. The large open fan has a cut in it to put things in but I do not know what that might be or maybe ferns as we use to get them a long time ago.She has a heart shaped pink mouth and raised eye slants with her head tilted to the side. The boys coat & buckets are the same light blue or gray and his arms are down to his sides. He only has the same flowers but on front of his coat and a straw had white in color with white stand and light blue or grey shoe’s. Thanks to any one that can help me with this. Norma
