Sandwich Glass

Sandwich glass was founded in 1825, in Sandwich, Massachusetts, by Deming Jarves. They first known as the Sandwich Manufacturing Company, then changed their name when it was incorporated to Boston & Sandwich Glass Company. They created clear and colored glass using free blown, blown three mold and pressed glass manufacturing techniques.

Jarves was the general manager from 1826 until 1858. After he left, they focused more on mass production and using lime glass which was cheaper to produce.

After operating at a loss, the company closed down on January, 1, 1888.

Other companies like Duncan & Miller, Indiana Glass, Anchor Hocking and Tiara Exclusives made Sandwich glass as well and sometimes it’s hard to tell the patterns apart.

I have a pair of green vasoline candelsticks to sell.
A large amber bottom and clear font lamp. Used to be for oil for another fuel.
A clear glass covered iron sauce piece. Do not know pattern.
a clear glass flower vase not sure of pattern.

I would like to sell these pieces if anyone is interested. They were all purchased in Sandwich MA in the 1950s by my parents.

    All items are perfect.
