Duncan & Miller Glass Company was founded in 1865, in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania, by George Duncan, along with his two sons Harry and James and son-in-law Augustus Heisey. By 1890, they became part of a glass trust known as the United States Glass Company. Two years later in 1892, their factory was destroyed by fire and they left the trust. They were first known as the George A. Duncan and Sons Company and later became the Duncan & Miller Glass Company when designer John Miller became a partner in 1900. They produced pressed glass and novelty items in a wide range of patterns, some etched or engraved. Most pieces were blue, pink, chartreuse or blue opalescent.

The Duncan factory was closed in 1955 after they became part of the United States Glass Company.

I am looking for some information on a gift my grandfather received around the later 1940’s. There are 5 glasses, an ice bucket w/tongs and a cocktail shaker w/pour lid. They all have the etching of what looks like a WW2 Bomber. There is a sticker on the ice bucket that says Duncan Crystal. My grandfather has long since passed away and this has been handed down through the family. None of us knows much more about it except it was a gift from a family friend that was a pilot in the war. Any help or information would greatly be welcomed.

I am looking for some info on my glassware. It was made in 1929 by Duncan Miller. The pattern is Puritian. I was trying to find the value of it. I have the large platter, 14 sherbets, 14long stem glasses, 14 cups and saucers, dinner plates, canapé dish with stem, two sugar and creamers, and two coasters. My glassware is green. I do have books about depression glass but this one is hard to find anything about. In one book it shows just the platte but not anything about the value.

If you can tell me how I can get some info on this pattern, it would be great!
